As a child, I loved drawing. Writing and reading were tough to learn and I had about given up when it started to happen. By the time I was a teenager, Music had made its way to the top of my favourite media of expression. At 17, I considered art school, but I found it difficult to cope with people so it never happened.

Music is my main career (currently as WALKI's MONSTER). While I have written and dabbled in art (pencil and ink) on and off most of my adult life, these two media became equally important within the last 16 years.

From black and white I moved on to colours with acrylic at the beginning of the 21st century. A few years later, my paintbrushes acquainted themselves with oil painting. I mostly paint portraits of humans and animals, and occasionally some abstract. I frequently use bright colours, maybe to represent an explosion of expression. I occasionally exhibit my work.

What are Music, Writing and Art to me? They are media of expression. They are therapeutic and keep me alive. They are sources of oxygen. They are personal and collective, they are private and political. They are Life and Death rolled into one. If I haven't got the words, I might have the music. If I haven't got the music, I might have the visual representation.
